The Pilates Method is an exercise program designed to create whole body strength and flexibility through specific exercises and principles. Pilates can be done on a mat or on specific apparatus designed to help you get stronger for your mat work. You can begin your practice at any age and level of physical ability. Regular practice will correct posture, alignment, and reduce your risk of injury or re-injury. This challenging and low impact program will have you moving and feeling your best.
Yes! Pilates creates a balance of energy in your mind and your body by requiring you to use both throughout your practice. You will learn the principles of Pilates including breathing, control, precision, centering, flow, and concentration. These principles are the foundation of teaching you Pilates exercises and when applied and practiced regularly you will witness your movement and shape transform.
Pilates also reduces stress and increases performance in the daily grind of life and any other activities you enjoy including, walking, running, tennis, golf, horseback riding, sailing, weight lifting, and cycling to name a few. After a single session you will feel stronger and more flexible. The longer you practice the longer you will feel the effects.
